Download the Unity Hub Installer

Method 1

Go to the official website download page

Unity Hub It is a must install software to use Unity, this software helps us to manage Unity software version and Unity project.
Enter the URL in your browserunity.com/cn/download Go to the download page.

Then clickDownload for Windows^① maybeDownload other versions^②，

Download the installation package

For example, if you download the Windows version, a prompt window will pop up, click on thesave as (a file)^①。

Select the one you want to downloadtrails^①Clickpreservation^②Then wait for the download to complete.

Method 2 (includes account registration)

Enter the official website

In your browser, typeunity.cn Go to the official Unity website.

Then click on the upper right corner of theDownload Unity^① Go to the download page.

Scroll down and you will see all versions of Unity.
Click here forDownload Unity Hub^①。

After the prompt box pops up, download the corresponding version of the installation package according to your operating system.

The Unity account login screen will pop up.

Account login (if you have one)

If you already have a Unity account and have installed the Connect App on your mobile device, you canClick to show QR code^① Swipe to log in.
You can also clickAccount Login^②, use your cell phone or email to log in.
If you don’t have a Unity account, you can clickAccount Login^②, and sign up for a new account in the email login screen on the right.

If you are not tied to a cell phone number, or do not have a Unity account, you can click on theEmail Login^①。

If you don’t have a Unity account, you can clickenrollment to access the registration page.

Use WeChat to scan the code to log in.

After confirming the login on your cell phone, you need to bind your email address according to the prompts, and you can login by refreshing the webpage after the operation is completed.

Account Registration

Once you are on the registration page, follow the prompts.

Finally, click on theCreating a Unity ID^④。

After a few moments the page to activate the email will appear.

Login to new account

Finally, go back to this screen and download the corresponding version of the installation package according to your operating system.

Install Unity Hub

installation process

Open the just downloadedUnity Hub Installer, as shown in the figure below.

As a first step, clickagree that^①。

In the second step, click on theskim over^① Select the installation path, it is recommended to install to a disk other than the C drive, and then click themounting^②。

Wait for the installation process, which will probably take a couple of seconds.

Step 3, the installation process is finished, if you have checked the boxRun Unity Hub^①Then click on thefulfillment^② The Unity Hub will run automatically after that.

Getting Started

After running Unity Hub, if you have an existing Unity account, click theSign in^① Make a login;
If you don’t have a Unity account, clickCreate account^② Make a registration.

Login Successful

After you have successfully logged in, you will be prompted to install the Unity editor.

You can also clickSkip installation^④ Skip this installation step.

Select Unity editor version

Enter the official website

In your browser, typeunity.cn Go to the official Unity website.

Then click on the upper right corner of theDownload Unity^① Go to the download page.

Or just type the URL into your browserunity.cn/releases, or you can go to the download page on the Unity website.

Select Version

Scroll down and you’ll see all the versions and categories of Unity.

If you haven’t downloaded Unity Hub yet, we recommend clicking on theDownload Unity Hub^①. You can refer to the previous section to download the Unity Hub installation package and install it.

Long-term support version (recommended)

The Long-Term Support Edition is for users who wish to continue developing and releasing games/content for a long period of time and expect to maintain a stable version for a long time.^②
The Long Term Support version is recommended for newbies who want to experience the latest and stable features.

When learning Unity, you must have found some web tutorials, which were made at different times and use different versions, and the interface and functional features may not be the same from one version to another.
So for a smooth learning process, you need to choose a suitable version to download based on the tutorial.

latest version

The latest version allows you to experience more new features, but it is not as stable as the long-term support board, so it is not recommended for newbies to download and use.

Downloading and installing the Unity editor

If you haven’t installed Unity Hub yet, you can refer to the previous article to install Unity Hub and log in to your Unity account first, which is very helpful for the next steps.

Downloading with Unity Hub (recommended)

After selecting the version, clickDownload from Hub^①。

If your browser pops up this prompt, check theAlways allow unity.co.uk to open such links in associated applications^①and then clickshow (a ticket)^②。

After a few moments, Unity Hub will pop up the installation prompt box as shown below.
Unity Hub will check the box to install the recommended code compiler by default, e.g.Visual Studio Community 2019^①This will be used when writing code.
If you already have a compiler installed, then you can uncheck it and just reset the default compiler in Unity after installing it.
Then clickContinue^① Continue.

If this prompt box pops up.choice^① after clickingInstall^② Start the installation.

During download and installation

If this box pops up, clickis^① Ready to go.

This window automatically pops up when you start downloading and installing Visual Studio Community 2019.

The full installation process may take a few minutes to several minutes, so please be patient.
